11th-15th July  – U Fistinu in Palermo – Rosalie  (Palermo’s patron saint) with fixed carts, processions, Jahmärkten and outdoor concerts. August 14 – Palio dei Norman in Piazza Armerina – Rider battles in medieval costumes.
14th-15th August – Mata and Grifone in Messina – very tall, supported by human figures to remember the liberation of the Arabs.
The end of August – Ballo della Cordella in petralia Sottana – ring dance in traditional costumes (Thanksgiving)
the end of September – Couscous and Mediterranean cuisine with chefs from Sicily, the Orient and North Africa in the best bech of Italy  San Vito Lo Capo.
December 13 – Santa Lucia in Syracuse – Procession and Festival of Lights.

Today has Sicily 4 cities where you can find the best flight for you: Palermo Airport Falcone e Borsellino, Trapani Airport, Catania Airport, Comiso airport (near Ragusa)

Getting by train: Direct trains or coaches there are not charges for sleeper and IC can be more expensive than the flight the ride.
