Around the apartment:

This luxury apartment is located in Via della Piramide Cestia, close to the subway station, where the elegant Aventine district meets the popular and picturesque Testaccio district. The Aventine is the southernmost of the seven hills on which Rome was founded. To this hill belong the ancient legends of Romolus and Remo and the words of poets such as Gabriele Dannunzio and Carducci who were fascinated by the stunning beauty of this area. It is considered one of the first tourist attraction of the Eternal City: since antiquity it was the destination of all the merchants coming from all over the world, thanks to its proximity to the river port, the only goods yard of the city.

During the Middle Ages the Aventine was enriched with important and fascinating churches, and after many centuries, in 1930 it further refined its beauty with the construction of the luxury bourgeois villas, earning the name of “district of silence” because of its quiet and tranquility. From the apartment you can visit the beauty of the whole district on foot, following a route that starts from the Pyramid Cestia and continues on the avenue of the Aventine: taking the small hill on the left side, you can easily find different Middle Ages churches such as St. Prisca and St. Sabina, the esoteric palace of the Knights of Malta, and the Garden of Oranges, one of the few scenic sites in the capital that offers a breathtaking view of the Basilica of St. Peter.

The tour continues along Via delle Terme Deciani opening to the viewpoint of Romulus and Remo, with an overview of the Circus Maximus and the Palatine Hill, the ancient site of the Roman nobility. Then through the Circus Maximus you can walk along the road leading triumphantly to the Colosseum. Testaccio is instead one of the most ancient Roman area. It has been always the stronghold of Rome and its tradition, today there are many typical restaurants, pubs and the trendiest discos and one of the most famous street markets of the capital. And on Sundays, nearby lungotevere Testaccio you can enjoy the famous market of Porta Portese!
